As part of our Bus Driver Appreciation Day, we welcomed our Shapleigh drivers and monitors in for a yummy breakfast. They also received token of appreciation from our PTC, cards from our learners, and a big thank you from our school during our Friday Share Time. Learners were provided different activities at the end of January to help pull together their understanding of what it means to be a respectful to ourselves, each other and/or our environment. Those that returned their completed activities were entered into a drawing for a Shapleigh Memorial School t-shirt! Congratulations to our winners Carter and Emerson!

The third graders are just beginning their form project in art class. In this unit they are building clay pots using the coil building method. Did you know coil building has been used by humans for thousands of years? Some of the earliest dated pottery found in the Americas dates to 2500 BCE!

On Friday, those children who turned in the gratitude challenge from winter break were invited to have a special lunch and treat with Mrs. Penney. This was a fun way to celebrate those who completed this activity and shared all the wonderful things they are grateful for. A special thank you to Mrs. Kathy for making our pizza party possible!
