Good afternoon Mustang Nation! It is with great excitement and pride that we announce the recipients of the Model Mustang Staff Award for the month of September! This award is a tribute to those outstanding individuals who embody the qualities of a true “Model Mustang”; they inspire, lead, foster positivity, persevere, and excel in all that they do. Each Model Mustang was nominated by colleagues who took the time to acknowledge and celebrate their coworkers’ exceptional contributions to our district. Their hard work and commitment have not gone unnoticed, and we are grateful for the positive impact they have within RSU 57! Dear RSU 57 Community, Today marks an exciting milestone as all 2,910 students across RSU 57 returned to school. Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students, along with those in grades 10-12, began their first day of the 2024-2025 school year today. Our dedicated staff are thrilled to welcome both new and returning learners into our schools and classrooms. As we ease into the new school year, we ask for your patience with our transportation department. Our youngest learners, particularly our 4 and 5-year-old students, are still getting accustomed to boarding and exiting school buses and vehicles safely. We anticipate that elementary bus runs may be slightly delayed over the next three days as we assist these students during this transition. Your cooperation and understanding are essential to ensuring a smooth and safe experience for everyone. Finally, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all the students, families, and caregivers who attended our annual school open houses last week. Your involvement is invaluable as we work together to prepare our students for success in an ever-changing world. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we embark on another year of learning and growth. Sincerely, Stephen D. Marquis, PhD. Superintendent of Schools

Lyman 3rd graders got the chance to visit Fort Williams and Portland Head light! They spent the month of March and April learning all about Maine and studied lighthouses for their research projects. This was such a great way to celebrate all that they have learned.

Lyman Elementary students participated in a STEM project to build containers that could keep an egg safe when being dropped from the roof. Mr. Marines and Ms. Richards worked with students to build a plan and execute it. 65 eggs landed safely on the ground today! Thank you to all who made this an absolutely successful project.
