Meet the Principal and Assistant Principal

Principal

My name is Ginnie Drouin and I am the principal at Alfred and Lyman Elementary School.  I have been in the field of education for over 32 years.  I started out as a middle school language arts teacher in Fairfield, Maine. I have taught preschool, grades four, six, seven, eight, as well as Adult Education.  I have also been both an assistant principal and a principal during the last 31 years.  My children and I have lived in the Southern Maine area for the past 25 years.  I have a 27-year-old son and a soon to be 25-year old daughter.  My son is a business major and works in the food service industry and my daughter is a recent graduate of East Carolina University and is now a middle school science teacher in North Carolina . I am starting my fifteenth year as principal at Alfred Elementary School. This will be my first year as principal at Lyman Elementary.

Our goals for both Alfred and Lyman Elementary Schools are to provide a high quality and comprehensive, instructional program and to foster the mental and the emotional wellness of all students.  Our plan is to attain our goals by creating and maintaining a caring school environment, teaching and modeling appropriate behaviors and problem solving skills and providing high quality academic instruction.  We are very excited to be working towards a more Performance-Based approach to education.  I am confident if we work together our students will be successful.  I am looking forward to a very successful 2014-2015 school year.

Assistant Principal

My name is Cindy Pellerin and I am the new assistant  principal at Alfred and Lyman Elementary Schools.  For the past twelve years I have been an eighth grade Math and Science teacher as well as a Team Leader and Curriculum Coordinator for the grade level. I have lived in Southern Maine for my entire life, and currently live in Buxton with my husband Rob. We have two hilarious kids that keep us busy. Mason who will be 8 in November and Sophia who is 5 and starting school this fall.  I have heard so many wonderful things about both schools and I am extremely excited to be part of such wonderful communities. I look forward to helping both schools grow and move forward with the proficiency based system as well as helping students to reach their educational goals.
